A very handy feed validator tool

I was really scratching my head wondering why I could net get the feed for this website to load into a website aggregator. A quick google on the problem found this post with a similar problem, which led me to…..

FeedValidator.org

Which is very handy even if you know how to debug a feed from a visual inspection of the raw RSS, a lot of times try to load it into your browser and it auto-renders it using it’s configured feed-reading behavior. In this case I was finding even trying to

lynx -dump -source

it was just yielding binary garbage. So I was very perplexed.

Turned out I my click tracking javascript was being appended onto the end of the feed via an auto-append. Once I tweaked that, everything started working again.
